Religion has always been one of my interests. Just like how a person does not have to be a chef to enjoy good food – one does not need to practise religion in order to learn about it. I also strongly believe that religion does not make a person good, it depends on the individual alone.
An extremely devout person may not necessarily be a good person. I think it should not require something that is believed to be of a certain higher power to make mankind want to do good and be fearful of consequences if they were to act evil. Why can’t we be of sincere hearts because we want to, not because we’re supposed to?
Anyway, there are so many religions and beliefs in today’s world that it is impossible to determine which is better than the other. The fact is, there is no better one. I think each and every one of them only teaches good things, none of them are telling people to cause harm or inflict pain.
When people misinterpret or manipulate their religion into something bad and they claim that they’re doing what they’re supposed to do, that is not to be blamed on religion. It is to be blamed on those individuals who want to gain something for themselves using the wrong approach.
I also think that application forms or any type of forms that require users to fill in – should exclude the race and/or religion aspect out. I simply do not see the need for it because if you’re looking for an employee – anyone can do a good job provided they have the capability to do so and they want to do so. It is not tied down to skin colour or what their beliefs are.
Just because you are of religion A and someone else is of religion B, C, or D; it does not give you the right to criticise them or their beliefs. There is no more superior one, and you’ve got to respect that. If you’re someone who does not believe in faith or you choose not to get too involved with it, I think that’s fine provided you do not think that people who do are less better.
All bad things in this world are caused by mankind, all good things in this world are also caused by mankind. It is the matter of whether people want to make good or bad.
