Ever since I started having French mani & pedi, I have friends who asked where do I get them done. Quite a few do not know we can actually do it ourselves, and it’s actually very very trouble-free!

I was 17 when I discovered the wonders of Sally Hansen’s French Manicure & Pedicure set. Only RM49.90 and can be found at any major pharmacies as well as SHINS (I usually get it here).
These two bottles come together, the pink one is in Sheer Strawberry which is my favourite. Also comes in Almost Nude which is not as attractive if you ask me. The white bottle comes in only one shade.

If you seek specialists, it can easily come up to a 100bucks for both fingers and toes. With these two bottles, they can last for months! This pack also comes with stickers for you to estimate the painting for the tips of your nails. But I find it a hassle so I paint according to my own estimation; which turns out well usually. A little tricky when it comes to nails on my right hand (I’m a righty) but you get used to it after a while.

Sally Hansen’s nail strengtheners protect my nails from chipping easily because constant nail painting can weaken them. I use them as base coat. Comes in 3 colours, Clear Violet, Natural Tint (above) and another nude shade. Once in a while when I get too lazy or if I’m too busy to paint my nails, I just put on a shade or two of these and I’m off to go!

As you can see, the bigger bottle says Start to Finish which means you can apply it for both base and top coat. Mum usually gets this double duty bottle because it’s of course cheaper this way and it’s more convenient when you only have to use one bottle instead of two different ones. Not to mention O.P.I has very good brushes.

The Drip Dry bottle is to quicken the process of drying. I usually paint my nails at night and if it’s too late, I have a drop on each nail and it really helps. On normal occasions, it takes at least 2hours for them to completely dry up so it can be a long wait. That’s when this thing comes in handy.

I always do my nails myself, saves a lot of cost! To me, a person’s nails tell a lot. You don’t have to have painted nails to look decent, well-kept and neat nails can look just as good. Dirty, extremely long nails: a total turn off.

Matte They only had purple, white and this colour so I decided to get this one, something atypical. However the thing is it doesn’t require top & base coat for its matte effect to work. I was a little skeptical because I’m worried it might do harm to my nails without the base protection. I usually apply a layer of nail strengthener before applying nail colour.

It looks alright, although I must admit I’m a little disappointed with the outcome (doesn’t actually look as nice as it does in photos) but nonetheless, something out of the ordinary. It reminds me a little of this nail colour in jade by Chanel.

Was at Palm Square for the first time to try this cafe called Tappers which I think serves ordinary food, nothing very exceptional. I think it serves nice breakfast but got there after breakfast hour so yeah.

Brandon’s extended family has this restaurant at Aman Suria Damansara, Rosemary Bites. It’s actually only a few shops away from Betty’s Midwest Kitchen, the one that serves American food. Rosemary Bites is definitely the place to go! The food there is delicious. They serve lasagna with Sirloin beef baby, SIRLOIN. Black pepper lamb chop there is really really good. Very generous with the gravy as well.

Oh I got my first ticket, hahahah. I usually always remember to pay for the parking but this time somehow it slipped off my mind; wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing to worry about, it’s issued by the council or something so it can be ignored as it doesn’t affect the renewal of your road tax whatsoever. That’s what I’ve been told, but makes you wonder why do they bother issuing summonses in the first place. Very lucky it wasn’t issued by the cops.

Was at the gym with Mr R, Brad, and Sandesh the other day. Went to the Uptown branch, managed to check the sauna room and steam room out this time around. Feels so good when you step out after that.

Did some shopping with mum at Telawi street, I love Goss:ps. Then it was MV with mum again and kiddo brother. Made me a very happy girl on exam eve hahah. Tomorrow’s big day no.1, can’t wait for Tax paper to be done and over with!

Had lunch at this newly-opened (only a month old) restaurant that serves American food today, located at Damansara.

The owners (husband&wife) are very friendly and I particularly love their wall frames.

Also, their tables are named according to the many states in America, how creative! We had lunch at Michigan today! Hahahah.

But they only have 13 tables and during dinner time, the queue is madness. I guess there is no need for me to say that they serve good food Will definitely go back to try more of their dishes.

I’ve been catching up on local and world news, and I found some of them rather amusing.

There’s apparently this British lady who suffers from Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome, where she craves for sex and can climax anytime, as the disease name suggests. I don’t know bout you, but I really feel sorry for her. Imagine how you can’t live life like a normal person, there was even once she had an orgasm in front of a very persistent salesman who didn’t want to let her excuse herself (she knew it was coming), very embarrassing I must say. Well she did finally find a man whom she claims can keep up with her (up to 10times a day), after many many failed relationships due to her very demanding sex drive. I wish her all the best!

And then there’s this woman in India who filed for divorce because her husband forbids her from watching soap operas. And the best part is, the judge granted her a divorce because “it can be considered as a form of abuse”. Her husband also refuses to have sex with her, intimidates her as well as spat on her, so I guess those are pretty valid reasons for a divorce. (Information taken from The Star today)

Next up is this man who allegedly killed his wife in his dreams. Psychiatrists say that he has a sleeping disorder and he did so thinking he was fighting off intruders who wanted to harm both himself and his wife. This is very interesting I must say, the case is still ongoing. (Metro.co.uk)

But I saved the best for the last, our very own local news. I read something so ludicrous that it made me feel like I should be ashamed to call myself a Malaysian. Our Deputy Minister of Education stated that “conversing in English at workplace is harmful to the nation’s culture and identity” and “we should switch to BM to show pride in the national language“. He also claimed that speaking in English will pollute our culture and identity. (Patrick Teoh, Niamah.blogspot.com)

English is a worldwide language, a lingua franca. There are many ways to show pride and respect for our country, it certainly does not require the people to go backwards. It is like asking mankind to go back to living in caves.
