Daily happenings

Good day folks!

Working has been fun, but hectic at the same time. I really enjoy working, I think I might have found something I truly like and that’s important right? To love and have passion for what you’re doing. I still have plenty to learn, not everything is within my immediate grasp but I do hope I can catch up just fine.

I can’t remember if I’ve said this but my colleagues are so kind and nice. When you don’t know something, you’ve got to ask or you will forever remain behind time. So when I do ask things, they are very patient and supportive. It’s not easy to find people who are so generous. Besides that, I think we all get along pretty well. They are very warm, wasn’t a task to fit in and not feel out of place. Really a great bunch of people to work with.

Also, when you’re in the working world you will realise how important Mandarin is. If you’re in a local firm/company then maybe the exposure is not so prominent but in my opinion, it is probably the most important language apart from English. Note that it is not a dialect, but a language. Unlike Cantonese. I do hope I can improve my Mandarin considering most of my colleagues are well-versed.

Apart from that, I think work is good. It makes me feel, alive. I love it when I have a million things to complete, I feel the stress yet I prefer that better than having nothing to do at all. And at the end of the day, you reap what you sow, you’ve got cases submitted and then approved, etc. It’s a great feeling.

Enough about work for now, I really do hope I come up with something more interesting to talk about apart from work heh.

I came up with an idea to do this: I will try to make this a weekly thing where I post 7 things that made me happy – one for each day. Could be people, things, or simply thoughts.

^ #1 Häagen-Dazs Smoothie ice cream

v #2 New buys :D

^ #3 Burger King’s mozzarella cheese sticks

v #4 Making lunch for the family

^ #5 Taking Spocky to the park

v #6 Weekend with the girlfriends

^ #7 Winning a million USD!

This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody‘s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anyone could have.

Watched the World Cup final match till 5am, Nederland did not win but that’s okay. Had Japanese for brunch then it was shopping shopping shopping all the way. Bought this pair of shoes I’ve been searching high and low for. Got a manicure & pedicure session. Two roti canais for dinner. Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts (free ones will be given away tomorrow & I bought them today hmmm). I’m exhausted. But life is good. Awesome.

According to Greek mythology, humans are originally created with four legs, four arms, and a head with two faces.

Fearing their power, Zeus split them apart, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other half.

Interesting.

So.. when we find our other halves, does that make us “powerful“?

I created a Formspring.me account recently but I forgot my password, so yeah.. Also made a DailyBooth account hahah. Click here, and here.

Been really busy since finals ended, catching up with friends and what not. I managed to get a part-time weekend job! :)

Will update on best friend’s 21st birthday soon.

It is brilliant that my course allocates a week before finals for last minute revision, they call it study break. Useful for people who try to cram everything at one go right before an exam (unfortunately I’m one of them). Which means classes officially ended two weeks ago.

Every day was like a weekend for me; last Friday I was wondering how come everyone’s talking about class when it’s a weekend. Then it hit me, it wasn’t. The study break allowed me to cover most of the topics I needed for finals, really grateful for the great system. But it was very hectic, I couldn’t stand being home 24/7 and I couldn’t bear studying for more than 4 hours a day.

So I actually had very little time to prepare if you do the math. It even came to the extent where I was taking my text book with me into the washroom. And the bath tub looked exceptionally comfortable that at one point I was considering reading in it. The weather was such a turn off (still is) but surprisingly it’s quite cool in the washroom. Which explains why I had the idea of reading in the bath tub, I’m not crazy.

Finals were over in two days, I still don’t know if that was a good thing or not. I was elated that I only had to go through sleepless nights and anxious poops for two days, but on the other hand I wish I had even more time to revise haha. Although I’d very much prefer to have open book tests with no tips whatsoever rather than getting a truckload of clues on what’s gonna appear in the papers.

Btw check these out; found them in an email a friend sent me. (“The Most Annoying Types of People on Facebook” but I chose the best two), HYSTERICAL! :

Mmm three months break; I’m gonna savour every bit of it.
